Coaxial cartridge
This cartridge type consists of a cylindrical outer tube which contains a cylindrical inner tube so that two separate chambers are created in a tube-in-tube arrangement (coaxial) which are filled with component A (in the outer tube) and component B (in the inner tube) and which in each case are closed with a piston. The two-component cartridge is extruded by means of a special extrusion gun and a static helical mixer. This special gun, whose dimensions are matched to the diameter and volume of the two-component cartridge, features a rod with two push-plates which is adapted to the coaxial tube-in-tube design of the cartridge. During the extrusion process the gun rod pushes in axial direction and simultaneously into the outer and inner tubes of the cartridge, with one push-plate pressing on the piston of the outer tube and the second on the piston of the inner tube. In this way the A and B components in the outer and inner tubes are pressed out of the cartridge simultaneously, and are homogeneously mixed by the static helical mixer screwed onto the cartridge.
